At the Palm Springs Air Museum, we had the honor of delivering a 1/32nd Blue Angels F-18E Super Hornet diorama. The piece is built to match the actual aircraft on display, from markings to stance, all the way down to the ramp equipment.
It captures that quiet intensity before a show, the reset moment when the maintenance crew leaps into action. Changing tires, checking panels, wiping everything down so every surface is pristine.
At night, the diorama comes alive. Motion sensors trigger floodlights that bathe the scene in that working ramp glow. Not stage lighting, but the real light of work. That light catches every panel line and tire tread, grounding the crew in purpose.
Then the small details pull you closer. navigation lights, strobes, subtle bay glows, toolboxes, ladders, everything placed with intent. It’s a quiet tribute to the men and women whose precision and speed make the performance possible. The part the crowd rarely sees, but always feels.
